A ploughed field in winter, the barren oak trees waiting to spring into life at the first sign of some warmth and sunshine.
A scattering of gulls in the distance rummage through the field for seeds and insects..
The ground is asleep for the next few months, whilst the rain, cold and snow, cleanses the countryside in preparion for the next year.

An oak is a tree or shrub in the genus Quercus of the beech family, Fagaceae. There are approximately 500 extant species of oaks.
