David Shepherd (1931–2017) remains a celebrated wildlife and railway artist, with his legacy continued through the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF).
Recent news highlights his painting Service by Night being voted a top UK railway artwork and major auction interest,
including The Kill at Sotheby's in February 2026. His work has now become regarded as some of the finest watercolour paintings in the world.
